Tadao Ando visited S. R. Crown Hall

S.R. Crown Hall welcomed architect, Tadao Ando, for a brief tour this past Thur., May 12. Ando was greeted by Dean Wiel Arets and other members of the IIT Architecture administration and faculty.

Tadao Ando is a renowned, self-taught Japanese Architect, considered by many to be the father of contemporary Japanese architecture. Some of his notable works include Row House and Church of Light in Osaka as well as Armani Teatro in Milan. He frequently uses natural elements such as rain, wind, and light as distinctive inclusions within his style. He is also a recipient of many honors in the field of architecture, including the Pritzker Award in Architecture, awarded in 1995.
