Lluis Ortega will appear in conversation with Paul Andersen and David Salomon to discuss Prof. Ortega's recently published book, "The Total Designer"

"The Total Designer" carefully examines the impact of digitalization on architectural culture and its similarity to the effects of the linguistic turn in philosophy, while reflecting on the relationship between technology and creation. The text is based on a transversal vision, which can help non-specialist readers to understand certain complex phenomena.

Lluis Ortega is an Associate Professor at IIT. He holds a Master of Science of Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and a PhD in Architectural Design from Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Barcelona.

Paul Andersen holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a MArch from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the director of Independent Architecture, and a founding partner of Paul and Paul. His built work includes arts buildings, playgrounds, and residential projects.

David Salomon is Director of the Architectural Studies Program at Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. He holds a PhD in the Critical Studies Program in Architecture Culture from the University of California at Los Angeles UCLA.

"The Total Designer" is available, in both Spanish (via Puente Editores) and in English (via Actar Publishers).
