CoA Faculty on Architect Magazine's 2014 "Top 50" Firms

IIT Architecture's students learn from some of the world's leading architects. This year two faculty members are principals at firms included in Architect Magazine's "Architect 50" "that recognizes firms small and large, who are making their mark beyond just their ability to run a financially lucrative business."

Ross Barney Architects (Carol Ross Barney and Ross F. Barney) has been included in the overall "Top 50" list. John Ronan Architects (John Ronan) is included in the "Top 50 Design" list.

The IIT Architecture "network" of faculty, Board of Overseers and alumni are well represented on all the four lists: OverallBusinessDesign and Sustainability

SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill) shows up on each of the four lists. In addition to Board of Overseer member William Baker who is Structural and Civil Engineering Partner at SOM, our innovative Cloud Studio program includes a studio taught by SOM architects Robert Bracken and Arathi Gowda.

The firm Perkins+Will also appears on all four lists. Board of Overseer member Ralph Johnson, Design Principal at Perkins + Will, and several faculty members are part of the Perkins + Will team who are committed to enriching the experience of IIT Architecture students.

The firm SmithGroupJJR is included in the Overall, Design and Sustainability lists. Anthony LoBello, Learning Practice Leader at SmithGroupJJR Chicago office, teaches ARCH 413 Architectural Practices at IIT Architecture.

The firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture is included on the Overall list as well as the Design and Sustainability lists. Board of Overseer member Adrian Smith is a principal at the firm and a valued member of the IIT Architecture network.

The firm CannonDesign appears on the Overall and Business lists. Board of Overseer member John Syvertsen is a Senior Principal at CannonDesign and provides our students and faculty with his unique perspective.

Former faculty members and alumni are also well represented in the various lists. They work for some of the world's leading architectural firms that recognize the value our graduates bring to their world-class teams.
