MIMICA LECTURE @ 20TH VIENNA ARCHITECTURE CONGRESS

IIT Architecture Chicago Associate Dean of Research Vedran Mimica will lecture at 20th Vienna Architecture Congress on Nov. 20th at 10:30.

Under the congress title "In the End: Architecture, Journey through Time 1959-2019,"  Mimica will deliver a lecture: "The Nineties (at the Berlage Institute)" within a session "The Nineties: The Medialization of Architecture — The Impact of Signature Architecture on the Architecture Discourse".

Vedran Mimica is an internationally renowned architecture educator. He joined the Berlage Institute, Amsterdam as Project Coordinator in January 1991, by invitation from Herman Hertzberger who was the founder and the first dean of the Institute. In 1993, Mimica was appointed as a full-time Course Director (Hertzberger deanship), Assistant Dean (Arets deanship) and Associate Dean (Alejandro Zaera-Polo deanship). At the Berlage Institute, he was responsible for creating the educational program, composing the curriculum, and guiding research activities, from 2007 to its closure in 2012. After working at the Berlage Institute for 22 years, he accepted the invitation by Dean Wiel Arets to join IIT Architecture Chicago. At IIT Architecture Chicago, Vedran serves as Professor, Associate Dean of Research, Director of Master of Science in Architecture program, Curator of Cloud Studios, and President of MCHAP International Advisory Board.
