M. Arch Students in SOFA Exhibit at Navy Pier

Chairs designed and created by 2nd year M. Arch studio to be on SOFA exhibit

Second Year Master of Architecture studio from IIT CoA, along with another five international art and design university departments, participate in 2014 CONNECT,  where they create design environments incorporating seating, lighting and objects. Their work will be featured in the upcoming exhibit "SOFA Chicago 2014" at Navy Pier, November 7-9.

Envisioned as part of "Nowness", the students from CoA focus on re-thinking the metropolis, and will design an installation as a public space that represent a gathering spot in a specific Chicago neighborhood.

The second year M. Arch studio selected the contemplation seating design through a studio-wide competition. The final installation include custom seatings and ceiling modules built by the entire studio. The process is documented and will be on display at SOFA along with small models as well as video images.
